When Katie Race, a working Alabama foster mom with a passion for hunting deer, gets a summons for jury duty, she has no idea how far she would actually go to see justice served.

At the trial, she learns about the despicable transgressions of Larry Cunningham, a forty-two-year-old unmarried youth minister from Loxley Lutheran Church, just down the street from where she lives. Cunningham was once adored by the female parishioners at his church, but he had a rule: He never dated the mothers of the children. Of course, that didnt stop young women from swooning over himand it didnt stop Larry from molesting their young boys.

The grand jury on which Katie serves promptly indicts Cunningham, who is arrested and brought to court. But before a trial can ever really begin, the charges are dropped because of a technicality. Katie cant tolerate the idea of the authorities doing nothing as a known child molester endangers the community, so she decides to put her hunting skills to the test to track down Cunningham.
